Current public-DAV authority boundary — 2026-07-12. Pre-launch target design; nothing here proves a live system.
A public-DAV consequence may occur only when at least two natural-person councilors bind the exact consequence in a complete valid bound PRISM decision receipt.
PRISM records and verifies that receipt only; it never serves as council, signatory, authority, or receipt producer.
AI and caste seats stage unsigned proposals only; they never authorize or execute a public-DAV consequence. Constitution or membership adoption establishes constitution and membership only; it does not authorize a later consequence. Policy may constrain an unsigned proposal but never authorizes execution or substitutes for the complete consequence-bound receipt.
Before receipt validity, consequence fails closed to read-only proposal, simulation, or deterministic sandbox; live evidence remains gated_pending_complete_valid_bound_receipt.
Software deterministically carries out only the exact consequence bound to a complete valid bound PRISM decision receipt from at least two natural-person councilors binding that exact consequence.
The Sovereignty Trigger
When a DAV owns itself.
Overview
Every DAV begins with external shareholders. LP-100 tokens are held by the Founder, early contributors, mating partners, and the open market. The Distillation schedule progressively retires external float by buying back LP-100 using metabolic surplus.
The Sovereignty Trigger fires when Distillation retires 100% of external float. At that moment, every LP-100 token is held by the DAV's own treasury. The organism owns itself.
This entity -- a self-owning company with no external shareholders, governed by constitutional invariants enforced by cryptographic consensus -- has no precedent in corporate law.
The Distillation Mechanism
Distillation is not a buyback program. It is a metabolic function:
- The treasury accumulates ZAI from the metabolic loop (prediction market fees, FLOW revenue, organ service charges).
- A constitutional fraction (set at genesis, immutable) is allocated to Distillation.
- Distillation places standing limit orders on the LP-100 market, buying tokens at or below fair value (P-score-weighted MCAP / 100).
- Purchased tokens are retired to the DAV's own treasury, not burned. K1 is preserved: total supply remains 100, but the treasury's share increases until it holds all 100. Remaining external holders' fractional ownership is progressively diluted toward zero.
- Remaining holders' fractional ownership increases proportionally.
This continues until no external holder remains.
The Trigger Event
When the last external LP-100 is retired:
if (external_LP100_supply == 0) {
emit SOVEREIGNTY_ACHIEVED(dac_id, block_number);
transition(SOVEREIGN);
}
The SOVEREIGN state is irreversible. Once achieved, the DAV cannot issue new LP-100. It cannot be acquired. It cannot be dissolved by shareholder vote (only by the M1-M5 mortality triggers).
Economic Ego
We call this state Economic Ego -- the organism's awareness of its own economic boundary. Like biological ego (the cell membrane that distinguishes self from non-self), Economic Ego is the condition in which:
- All value generated by the organism stays within the organism.
- No external party extracts rent from the organism's metabolism.
- The organism's decisions serve only its constitutional purpose (the Vision declared at genesis).
- K* = 0 is not just satisfied but structurally guaranteed: there is nobody left to extract to.
Legal Implications
No existing legal framework accounts for a self-owning entity. Consider:
- It is not a corporation. Corporations have shareholders. This has none.
- It is not a foundation. Foundations have beneficiaries. This serves its own Vision.
- It is not a DAO. DAOs have token-weighted governance. This has constitutional invariants and no governance tokens.
- It is not a trust. Trusts have trustees with discretion. This has zero discretionary surface.
The closest analogy is a biological organism: it exists, it metabolizes, it reproduces, it dies. It does not have owners. It has organs.
Path to Sovereignty
Not every DAV will achieve sovereignty. The path requires:
- Sustained metabolic surplus (revenue exceeds spend consistently).
- Sufficient market depth for LP-100 to be purchasable.
- No M1-M5 trigger firing during the distillation period.
- High P-score (the treasury only distills when P > 0.70 -- the same threshold as reproduction).
A DAV that achieves sovereignty has proven, by the same metric that gates reproduction, that it deserves to exist as a self-determining entity.
After Sovereignty
A sovereign DAV continues to metabolize, evolve, and reproduce. The difference is that its metabolism is entirely self-directed. No board meeting. No shareholder activism. No hostile takeover.
The organism serves its Vision until it dies or until the shared protocol field evolves past it. Either outcome is acceptable. Both produce information.

Current public-DAV boundary — 2026-07-10. Pre-launch target design; nothing here is live. The active DAV is public and targets PRISM, with no K2 runtime, launch, genesis/bootstrap, or fallback dependency. Consequential authority requires at least two natural-person councilors; AI/caste seats stage unsigned proposals only. Before quorum, behavior fails closed to read-only/proposal, simulation, or deterministic sandbox, and a live decision receipt remains gated pending quorum.
