The $100 Billion Mistake

The AI industry is locked in a scaling race. Each generation of frontier model costs more to train than the last: GPT-4 cost ~$100M, GPT-5 projections exceed $1B, and the race toward AGI/ASI suggests $10B-100B per model within a decade.

This is an arms race with diminishing returns. Each 10x increase in compute yields marginal capability improvements. The models are converging -- GPT-4o, Claude Opus, Gemini Ultra perform within percentage points of each other on most benchmarks.

The Coordinator Thesis

1. Zero training cost. Every model improvement is free to us.
2. No vendor lock-in. Swap any model without user-facing changes.
3. Architectural resilience. If OpenAI implodes, switch to Anthropic. If all cloud providers fail, SmallEBM keeps SPECTRE running.
4. Compound intelligence. Each organ accumulates trust scores, learned routes, and institutional memory that no single model possesses.
5. Constitutional governance. K-invariants constrain model behavior at the organ level. No amount of RLHF can match cryptographic enforcement.

The ASI Endgame
